The 2nd Women In Africa Summit (WIA) Initiative in Marrakech recognizing the contributions of women and their strong presence in the largest sectors of the African economy.
At the closing session of this Summit, under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI and organized under the theme “Looking Africa with confidence, believing in one’s talents”, participants called for the sharing of power between women and men in Africa, highlighting the importance of women’s vital role in the continent’s economy.
In this context, they focused on inclusive and quality girls’ education, winning the battle for education in Africa and promoting a new generation of women leaders in Africa, thus raising the need to raise obstacles that hinder the employability of African women and their integration into their societies.
This edition, which brought together nearly 400 people from 70 countries and about fifty African and international speakers, was marked by the organization of major plenary conferences on “Trust, a prerequisite for inclusive development” and “Winning the Battle of Education “, as well as 12” Meet With “sessions and meetings between representatives of the delegations to exchange and develop relationships and investment opportunities.
Launched in 2016, Women In Africa (WIA) Initiative is the first innovative digital platform for economic development and support for African women leaders and high potential. It consists of the WIA Club, which organizes various meetings on the continent, the WIA Institute (data / study) and the WIA Philanthropy Foundation, whose objective is to support women entrepreneurs.
In this context, the first pan-African private higher education network “Honoris United Universities” joined WIA Philantropy, to support the 54 young women entrepreneurs of the 2018 promotion of the WIA Entrepreneurship program 54 which was also held in Marrakech. Present in 9 countries and 30 cities in Africa, Honoris United Universities is the first pan-African private higher education network committed to training the next generation of African leaders and professionals, able to impact their societies and economies, in a globalized world.
